Stand Together for Higher Ed is a member-driven organization open to faculty and staff at all U.S. postsecondary institutions. We are committed to helping higher education thrive by:
Sharing with the public, lawmakers, and local leaders how vital colleges and universities are to economic development, workforce preparation, public health, and community life.
Promoting academic freedom and the pursuit of knowledge free from political or financial interference.
Providing tools and training for faculty and staff who want to advocate for the future of higher education.
Supporting independent institutional governance that protects intellectual diversity and open inquiry.
Encouraging investment in research, teaching, and student aid to keep higher education affordable and competitive.
Our work is grounded in shared values–not partisanship. Members join as individuals, not as representatives of their employers, and our efforts are focused on collaboration, connection, and public service.

Across the country, institutions are navigating shifting expectations, political pressures, and public misunderstanding. In times like these, collaboration matters more than ever. No single leader can respond to these challenges alone. But as a network, we can build strategies that are thoughtful, effective, and rooted in shared values.
Stand Together for Higher Ed supports teams on campuses nationwide. These teams share ideas, coordinate approaches, and support one another across institutions and state lines. By organizing locally and connecting nationally, we can strengthen the principles that sustain higher education: academic freedom, shared governance, scholarly integrity, and broad public access.
There are many ways to be part of this work. You might:

Every role counts. Every voice adds strength.
This is a time for collaboration, creativity, and courage. Those with tenure, citizenship, or relative job security may be in a position to take the lead, but all are welcome and all are needed.
